S/HE Identity And COVID-19
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the S/He Identity has been working in Colorado Springs, El Paso County and Pueblo to help people of color, poor and underserved populations to gain a better understanding about the virus, the three available vaccines and the importance of getting vaccinated. We accomplish this through community outreach, education, and the opportunity for people to receive the vaccination in neighborhood church houses where they feel safe.
We currently work with community partners and volunteers to bring COVID-19 Clinics to the people who are reluctant to receive the shot. We also are reaching faith communities to open their doors to host educational listening groups. A medical professional facilitates an intimate discussion about COVID-19, the vaccine and takes questions to address any fears and/or concerns the participants may have.
We believe religious organizations are key to reaching people. They serve their communities through spiritual leadership, guidance, and support. Our goal is to save lives by forming a collaboration of community partners, working to get people of color, poor and underserved populations educated and vaccinated.
